What should I do if my girlfriend doesn't want me to tell anyone that we're dating?

Answer: Why does she want to keep it a secret in the first place? That's the first question you've got to answer. Some reasons are okay, but some are destructive and mean you should probably break up with her right this instant. For example:

Good Reasons:

• She plans to tell everyone as soon as you're officially boyfriend and girlfriend.
• There's a phantom living in her opera company's basement, and if he finds out she's being disloyal he'll kill you both.

Bad Reasons :

• She doesn't think her friends will think you're worthy.
• She's embarrassed to be seen with you.
• She secretly wants to get back together with her ex and doesn't want you to blow her chances.
• You're not her only boyfriend.

Ask her what's going on and make your move based on what she says. If it's for one of the bad reasons, then she doesn't respect you and you shouldn't stand for it. Break up with her. 

And she won't give you a straight answer at all, then ask yourself: is it really fair that she's keeping secrets from you , too? As far as I'm concerned, a girl like that shouldn't be trusted with your heart.
